Client Testimonials
Ginny from Murphy, NC
It was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. You teach with honesty & deep belief that rewarding good behavior and not punishing poor performance is the right way to go. Having experienced the cruel training methods back in the 60's I have and will continue to recommend you to any and all that need help with their dog. You treated us all the same - human & dog - gave endless insight into how to go about what we want to achieve & gentle guidance to we humans on how to achieve it. That's what it amounts to - knowing how to teach & being able to do so in a way that doesn't offend or put the humans down is a real accomplishment - I've been around the block a few times in my life & I know the difference! Dixie has come so far & is getting better all the time to new people and new experiences. Thanks to you & your training ME how to train her!

What did you like about the class?
Is “everything” a good enough answer?! I thought the number of people and dogs was great……the pace seemed to go quickly, which seemed to keep the dogs’ and peoples’ attentions. I loved the positive attitude of Lisa and Brad and their command of the clicker training. They responded naturally to the dogs as we are learning too (and sometimes struggling to). They provided a great model for students of clicker use and positive reinforcement. I also appreciate the “off-agility-topic” answers to questions regarding dog situations. I supposed asking you to move to my neighborhood is out of the question…. :)

We learned so much from you and look forward to learning so much more. I never thought I could have so much fun teaching a dog. What a joy it is!

A very enjoyable and helpful class…gives me the tools to continue working with my dog.
Elizabeth from McCaysville, GA
It’s only been three days, Bernie hasn't even physically been to class yet, and already the "clicking" method is working wonders around here!
Paul from Robbinsville, NC
The class opened up new levels of communication between me and my dog.
Carolyn from Murphy, NC
What’s the most important thing you learned in class?
How to reward good behavior rather than punishing the bad behavior.
Suzi from Murphy, NC
What did you like best about the class?
The enthusiastic presentation, gentle hands-on coaching and tireless patience of Lisa and Brad Waggoner helped to facilitate the learning experience. It was a great opportunity for me to bond with Elke, a shelter rescue dog who had been with me a very short time. She was a bit timid at first, so it was a great joy to watch her gradually gain self confidence, while we both had a lot of fun!

How could the class have been improved?
Can’t think of one thing. This is the 2nd class I have gone to and the best! The other was not reward based…this is good! You’re in the correct business….your ability with dogs and their humans is wonderful!
Julie from Blue Ridge, GA
I would recommend this class to everyone that owns an animal.

Belle and I looked forward to class nites. I really appreciate your time and obvious dedication to our canine friends. All of the exercises you presented worked and the manual helped reinforce and remind during the week. Great beginner class! It was also obvious now the two of you watched all animals and trainers to keep classes safe.

Dear Lisa:
To simply say, WOW!, would not do justice in the behavioral changes that have occurred over the past 7 weeks with my golden boy, Spirit.
After speaking with you back in January about your training methods, I had a level of confidence that this was definitely what I wanted for my 1 year-old Labrador. I was even more shocked when you called me requesting Spirit for your first class demonstration, and hoped that I had accurately described his potential for being a whirling, Tazmanian devil. After all... he had just been kicked out of the Animal Hospital boarding kennel for his out-of-control behavior. I tempered my expectations for results based on his age, and just having ALOT of puppy energy to burn off.
Week-to-week, and with each class, Spirit became more focused, more obedient, and more loving. There was less yelling at him to "Stop it", "Get Down", etc. He went from greeting me in the afternoons with an airborne, paw-scratching, 100-pound, body-slam, to a wiggling, tail wagging, "all-four on floor", angel. Instead of his attempts to leap out of the moving car, he now sits and enjoys the ride with just his face propped at the window. We have gone from literally being dragged around when he is on a leash, to having him walking calmly beside us. He even comes to us when called. There are probably another 10 examples I could provide, but I think you witnessed the same near miraculous turnaround, that we did.
Having never undergone formal dog training, my original assumption was that I merely attended the sessions while you trained the dog. I couldn't have been more wrong, and at the same time, pleased with the lessons that I received. Learning a new training vocabulary, positive voice tones, and open body language were things that I hadn't even considered having to change about myself, but make so much sense 7 weeks later. Again, harmony has replaced mayhem! I honestly find myself far less stressed and more anxious to work and play with Spirit. Needless to say, I'll continue to spread the word about Cold Nose College, and Spirit and I will see you again soon for Recall & Phase II training.
Thanks to both you & Brad!!
